Why SubWhispr

Made for the videos you actually watch.

Surgical demos, university lectures, conference talks, private platforms — if it plays in your browser, SubWhispr can caption and translate it. No uploads, no account, no waiting in a queue.

Subtitles injected right into the player.

One click and SubWhispr drops the caption track straight into the video you're watching — toggle languages, tweak timing, or download .SRT. Works on YouTube, Vimeo, Vumedi, Wistia, JW Player, and custom HTML5 video.

Private by default.

Audio is processed on our servers only for the minutes it takes — then wiped. No accounts, no tracking, no storage. Safe for sensitive medical material.

Under 3 minutes.

A 12-minute lecture goes from click to caption in about 2:47 — fast enough to stay in flow, not kick you out to grab coffee.

127+ languages.

From Arabic to Zulu, with medical terminology tuned for clinical accuracy. Native names, ISO codes, and right-to-left scripts all handled properly.

.SRT, .VTT, or burn-in.

Download a standards-compliant caption file for your editor, or have SubWhispr render an MP4 with subs baked in for sharing.

Loved by

Doctors, students, and polyglots.

I watch a lot of surgical technique videos in Japanese and German. SubWhispr saves me 10 hours a week — and the medical vocabulary is actually accurate.

The inject-into-player feature is everything. No more juggling .srt files and VLC — it just shows up in YouTube, dubbed perfectly on my lecture.

Finally an extension that doesn't feel like a scam. Clean UI, no weird permissions, no login wall. And it's fast.

Questions

Before you install.

Is my data really private?

Yes. Audio is sent to our transcription service for processing, then deleted within minutes. We never store video, never share it, and never train models on it. Sensitive medical content is handled with the same short-lived, no-storage pipeline.

Which video platforms work?

If it plays HTML5 video in your browser, SubWhispr works with it — YouTube, Vimeo, Vumedi, Wistia, Panopto, Zoom recordings, Coursera, and most private/embedded players.

How accurate are medical translations?

The Pro plan includes a medical vocabulary boost trained on surgical, pharmaceutical, and clinical terminology. Typical word accuracy is 96–98% on clear audio.

Can I use SubWhispr offline?

Not yet — transcription and translation run on our servers. A local-only mode is on the roadmap.

Stop guessing what they're saying.

Install SubWhispr and caption your next video in 3 minutes.
